Former Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Colonel Panji Kaunda says it’s folly for people to misinterpret President Hakainde Hichilema’s statement and drag the name of his father and other former presidents into their debate.
Colonel Kaunda who is late first republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s eldest child says people were very quick to misinterpret the phrase made by President Hichilema to suit their selfish agendas.
He notes that the head of state did not make any reference to any particular individual in his statement.
Colonel Kaunda has told QTV news in an interview that those who are quick to condemn the President for his remarks are simply guilty and afraid of what may befall them when the law catches up with them.
He says there are people who are corrupt in every institution and those are the people that President Hichilema implied in his statement.
Colonel Kaunda has since called upon the Zambian people to support the president in his quest to unite and develop the nation.
