Zambian DNA says the former republican president Edgar Lungu has demonstrated great statesmanship for rendering an apology to the Zambian people for any mistakes that were made during his tenure of office.

Zambian DNA spokesperson Spuki Mulemwa says the sixth republican president conceded defeat gracefully in an effort to build on the foundation of smooth transition of power laid by the founding father and other  previous presidents.

Mr. Mulemwa says Zambian DNA is alive to the fact that during his tenure of office, he made great strides in tackling many Socio economic challenges the country is grappling with – including massive infrastructure developmental projects rolle out in all parts of the country.

He says the former president’s gesture of admitting mistakes publicly, on  behalf of his former government and party is a hallmark of great statesmanship of a  leader who deserves respect.
