Tobacco Free Association of Zambia (TOFAZA) has stressed the need for government to come up with long term policies that will eradicate tobacco abuse by adolescents in shanty compounds of Lusaka.
speaking in an interview with q news, TOFAZA health and tobacco consultant Dr. Teddy Andrew Mulenga is saddened by the continued lack of government tobacco industry interference in shanty compounds of Lusaka.
Dr. Mulenga says lack of jobs and recreational facilities in shanty compounds for youths and adolescents subjects them to become destitutes hence causing them to resort to tobacco consumption.
he has since recommended that government recruits many youths in the Zambia National Service ZNS as a way of rescuing many youths from idolism.
