Minister of commerce, trade and industry Chipoka Mulenga has called on the private sector to come on board and support government in its quest to improve trade in the country.

Speaking during the launch of the Zambia institute of trade and policy in Lusaka, Mr. Mulenga says this policy will improve investment and trade between Zambia and foreign investors.

He hopes that the newly launched policy will enable traders in the country to trade with well informed policies that are set for them.

He says for government to improve trade in the country  there is need to engage private stakeholders in its dealings as government cannot do it alone.

He says the new dawn government is committed to work with any private sector that is willing to contribute to the growth of  trade within and outside the country.

Speaking during the same event, Zambia institute for trade policy president  Edwin Makuya says through their evidence based research on trade they will be able to contribute in shaping the trade policy in the country.

Mr. Makuya has since urged government to engage them in policy formulation.
