Finance and national planning minister Situmbeko Musokotwane is today scheduled to present to parliament and the nation the 2022 national budget to parliament

A week ago, Dr Musokotwane announced during a wrap- up budget consultative meeting with various stakeholders that the new administration has set poverty reduction, employment creation, and creation of a conducive environment for investment in all sectors as some of the priority areas in the 2022 national budget.

And expectations amongst stakeholders on the upnd governments first ever budget are high.

Federation of free trade unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) president Chingati Msiska expects the 2022 national budget to bring hope to the worker by addressing the various challenges workers in the country face.

Mr. Msiska says the budget should look into various taxes that are a strain on the workers and the government should improve on the current threshold.

He has further stressed the need for proper measures to be put in that will ensure for the implementation of the budget as opposed to just having it on paper.

Meanwhile bus and taxi drivers association secretary general, Sydney Mbewe expects enough funds to be channeled towards improving the transport sector in the country.
