People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) President Andyford Banda has challenged the UPND leadership to condemn the violence that has characterized the Kaumbwe parliamentary by election campaigns perpetrated by their members.

Mr. Banda who has condemned the violent attacks on opposition party members with the latest being the socialist party says it is too early for the UPND to prove to the Zambian people that they are a violent party.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Banda said it is the expectation of every Zambian that having been the victims of political violence under the PF regime, the UPND will promote free and fair participation in elections. He has also called on the electoral commission of Zambia to investigate the reported cases of violence and ensure that culprits are brought to book.

Mr. Banda said the ECZ has nothing to be scared about with the new government having promised an autonomous commission to promote free and fair elections in Zambia.
