Police on the Copperbelt have arrested and charged Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo with the offence of unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Confirming the development, Mr. Hamoonga says the incident occurred on 11th April, 2019 during the roan parliamentary by-election.
Mr. Hamoonga says it is alleged that on the said date, two members of the National Democratic Congress party (NDC) were assaulted by Mr. Lusambo and some patriotic front (PF) cadres.
Mr. Hamoonga says Mr. Lusambo has since been released on police bond and is expected to appear before the Luanshya subordinate court soon.
