Govt urged to make COVID vaccination mandatory

Pharmaceutical expert, Jerome Kanyika has reiterated his call for Zambia to make Covid-19 vaccination mandatory.

Mr. Kanyika tells Q-news that this is something that president Hakainde Hichilema even as he spearheads the national vaccination program and the fight against covid-19 should seriously look into and consider.

He says government should restrict access to certain places only to those who have been fully vaccinated in order to compel those still hesitant to get vaccinated.

Mr. Kanyika has wondered why some eligible citizens are hesitating to get vaccinated when vaccination has so far proven to be safe and the best protection against the third wave.

Meanwhile Mr. Kanyika is elated by the announcement by the UK government that Zambia will be off the red list of covid-19 countries on Monday, 11th October, 2021.

He says this development will enable Zambians wishing to travel to that part of the world to do so as well as enhance trade and open up links.
