Mahogany Air adds new plane worth over US$5 million

Mahogany Air has added a new plane to its fleet with an investment of over US$5 million.

The acquisition of the Embraer 120 plane brings the number of the airline’s planes to three.

Speaking when he received the plane at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Mahogany air Chief Executive Officer Jim Belemu says the new aircraft will help in servicing the airline’s new routes.

Dr Belemu says in the recent past the airline has had to postpone certain flights due to a limited fleet, thereby inconveniencing its customers.

He states that with the new addition to the fleet, the airline will now fly to Mansa daily as opposed to three times a week, and will also commence flights to Nakonde soon.

Dr Belemu adds that the airline is also increasing its frequency in the region, and has since applied for two more international routes namely Angola and Burundi
