Construction of national house of prayer to commence within a week as K1.2 million is secured

National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Reverend Godfridah Sumaili has announced that the construction of the national house of prayer will commence within a week following the securing of K1.2 million.

Revered Sumaili says a taskforce team has since been appointed to oversee the construction and affairs of the national house of prayer.

Speaking during the ministry of information weekly media briefing, Reverend Sumaili says the task force will have members from various government ministries as well as the clergy from all the church mother bodies.

Meanwhile Revered Sumaili has called on all political and civic leaders to lead their followers in unity in participating in the forthcoming national day of prayer and fasting to be held on 18th October under the theme “receiving times of refreshment from the presence of the Lord through reconciliation with one another and the environment for a prosperous Zambia”.

She says President Edgar Lungu will attend the proceedings in Lusaka while Vice president Inonge Wina will attend the proceedings on the Copperbelt in Kitwe.

Revered Sumaili says the main focus of the prayers for this year will be for good rains in light of the droughts and floods experienced last year, as well as on continued peace and unity.
