MAZ welcomes plans aimed at reforming FISP

Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) President Andrew Chintala has welcomed government plans to reform the implementation and management of the Farmer Input Support Programme.

Finance Minister Bwalya Ng’andu during the presentation of the 2020 national budget said this is in order to cut the administrative costs as well as avoid wastage.

Mr. Chintala notes that over the years, people have complained of how the E-voucher system has failed and how FISP has not yielded the intended results, hence the minister’s indication is a step in the right direction.

He says MAZ is excited and looking forward to see what kind of reforms the ministry of agriculture will come up with.
