COMACO attributes increased deforestation to high poverty

Community Market for Conservation (COMACO) Conservation Manager Nemiah Tembo has attributed increased deforestation in the Country to high poverty levels.

Mr. Tembo says his organization has observed that most people cut down trees for charcoal burning in order to earn a living.

He notes that this is why COMACO gives out inputs so that people can become part of the value chain and raise money in a more sustainable manner.
