INESOR notes the need to translate research on poverty into policy programs

Institute of Economic and Social Research (INESOR) Assistant Director Joseph Simbaya has noted the need for Zambia to begin translating various research being conducted on poverty into policy and workable programs.

Dr. Simbaya has told QTV news that Zambia is doing quite well in terms of conducting research on social and economic issues but most of the research findings are usually shelved.

Dr. Simbaya has stated that looking at the current levels of poverty in the country, there is need for research conducted so far, to be translated into effective policies that can help change the status quo on how poverty can be alleviated in Zambia.

He has however stated that more can be done to enhance research in poverty especially as most of the studies are aligned to issues of HIV, health and education.
