Cabinet told to be serious in addressing hunger situation

Opposition United Party for National Development [UPND] Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development, Moono Mapani has described as embarrassing failure by government to tell the nation the hunger situation in the country.

On Thursday, minister in the office of the vice president revealed that more than 53 districts in Zambia are starving.

But in an interview with QTV news Mr. Mapani has purported   that the cabinet which is chaired by President Edgar Lungu is not serious in addressing the challenges facing the Zambian people.

He has also alleged that many people are dying of hunger and that it does not take long to ascertain the levels of hunger in this country.

Mr. Mapani says the situation is becoming unbearable every day for the majority of Zambians who are experiencing hunger in some parts of the country.

Meanwhile Mr. Mapani has urged Zambians to start holding accountable office bearers in government .
