Bring Teacher rappers to book – BETUZ

The Basic Education Teachers Union of Zambia (BETUZ) and the Zambian National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) have called on the Zambia Police to quickly bring to book those who raped the two female teachers in Mumbwa district in separate incidents.

BETUZ Spokesperson Kabika Kakunta has also appealed to the community leadership in the area to help bring those involved to book.

Mr Kakunta has told Q-news that the union is disgusted by what he has termed as barbaric acts.

Mr Kakunta says the union will soon be travelling to Mumbwa on a fact finding mission as well as check on the safety of female teachers in the District to avoid future occurrences.

He says should it be established that the safety of the teachers in that area is not guaranteed, the union will not hesitate to recommend to both the Teaching Service Commission and the Ministry of General Education to move out all female teachers from the area.

And Zambia National Union of Teachers Spokesperson Joe Kasaka has called on the Zambia Police Service to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring to book the perpetrators.
