ZAF takes strong stance against GBV

Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Lieutenant General David Muma has directed all formation commanders in the air force not to relent in implementing the 28 days detention of personnel involved in Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases in order to curb the vice.

Speaking when he officially opened the 9th administration seminar in Lusaka, General Muma has noted that cases of GBV and other forms of indiscipline have been on the rise.

He says the general discipline of personnel has not been impressive during the last few years and that the relationship at the lower level with other services especially the Zambia Police Service has not been good.

General Muma states that administrators are the custodians of discipline hence should ensure that the legal advisors in various stations assist the formation commanders in the dispensation of justice.

He says the air force has taken a strong stance against Gender Based Violence (GBV) to promote high levels of discipline among personnel.

Speaking at the same seminar, Brigadier General Mike Katukula says it is the role of the human resource practitioners to ensure improved personnel welfare if the strategic vision of the Zambia Air Force Command is to be realised.

The 9th administration department seminar is being held under the theme “Providing timely and professional administration through improved personnel welfare in order to achieve operational efficiency”.
