Kambwili refuses to help DEC investigate Findlay

National Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Chishimba Kambwili has refused to cooperate with the Drug Enforcement Commission pertaining to investigations into drug trafficking allegations he leveled against businessman Valden Findlay.

Mr. Kambwili, who this morning appeared for questioning at the DEC head office in Lusaka, declined to give any information over his recent allegations against Mr. Findlay.

Speaking shortly after appearing before the DEC, Mr. Kambwili told journalists that he does not trust the DEC to investigate the allegations he made even if he gave them the information they are looking for.

Mr. Kambwili, who was accompanied by senior party officials states that it is therefore, a waste of time for the DEC to summon him.

He says he has lost interest in investigative wings such as the DEC because each time he gives them information they end up using it against him.

Mr. Kambwili has wondered how anyone can give the DEC any information about Mr. Findlay when President Edgar Lungu warned last Friday in Parliament of consequences that would follow.

He says he would be a confused person to disclose any information he knows about the businessman to the DEC.
