Elephant kills tourist guide in Livingstone

A 45 year-old tourist guide of Livingstone has been attacked and killed by an elephant.

Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says Mchinga Siavwapa of Nottie Broadie in Livingstone who is also owner of Southern Safari touring company was attacked and killed by an elephant during his tour of the park this morning around 07:00hrs.

Mrs. Katongo says the victim who was in the company of a foreign national sustained a deep wound on his back.

She says the foreign national who has not been identified escaped unhurt as he managed to hide behind a tree.

Meanwhile Police in Samfya have arrested a 26 year old guard of a named church in Prisons compound identified as Erick Kasongo for allegedly repeatedly defiling a 5-year old girl of the same compound
