EL’s India visit producing dividends – Chilufya

Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya says President Edgar Lungu’s state visit to India last month has started producing dividends.

Dr Chilufya says India has responded expeditiously to the need to second medical lecturers and specialists mainly at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University.

He says this is in line with President Lungu’s agenda for universal health coverage through human capital development.

Dr Chilufya says Zambia will always be ready to work with India as it advanced in medical equipment, technology and pharmaceutical industry.

Speaking on arrival in India where he was received by Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga, Dr Chilufya says President Lungu has placed premium on global health diplomacy,public health security and pharmaceutical supply chain, through collaboration with countries such as India.

And Mrs Kapijimpanga says Zambia stands to benefit greatly if it increases high level visits to India especially in the area of health.
