Lusambo unearths NIPA enrolment scam

Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has unearthed a scam in which the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) is enrolling students without Grade 12 certificates.

Mr. Lusambo says government will not hesitate to expel any lecturer or Management official at the Institution who will be found wanting.

Speaking when he addressed NIPA members of staff, Mr. Lusambo says he has evidence to prove that  the institution has enrolled grade 12 drop outs a situation he says is compromising the education sector.

He says President Edgar Lungu is committed to providing quality education, and that those found compromising the education sector will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile Mr. Lusambo has ordered for the immediate closure of NIPA Club which is run by Gwembe District Commissioner Justus Phiri.

He says it is unacceptable for the bar to be located in the vicinity of the students’ hostels, describing it as lawlessness.

And NIPA Director Royson Mukwena has however refused to comment on the matter saying it is in the courts of law.

Meanwhile Mr. Mukwena has appealed to the Minister to consider donating a 65 seater bus to the learning institute.
