Pray for affected families by the xenophobic attacks in SA- Sumaili

Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Reverend Godfridah Sumaili has called on the church and believers to pray for the affected families and the destructive wave that has befallen the African continent following Xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Reverend Sumaili has condemned the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa describing them as disruptive, unacceptable and murderous.

Speaking to QTV News in a telephone interview, Reverend Sumaili says the acts of violence have aggrieved the nation and the African continent at large as they are a threat to continental peace.

The minister has however, advised Zambians against reprisal attacks.

Reverend Sumaili states that this is especially that Zambia is a Christian nation and has been enjoying peace since independence.

And Democratic Party Leader Harry Kalaba has condemned the xenophobia happening in South Africa.

Mr Kalaba who once served as Foreign Affairs Minister says he expects President Edgar Lungu as the immediate past Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security, to use his influence and ensure that an urgent summit is called to address the situation in South Africa.
