Police deny PF permit to protest against Kambwili’s ‘dog’ remarks

The Zambia Police Service has denied the ruling Patriotic Front a permit to protest against defunct National Democratic Congress (NDC) president Chishimba Kambwili over his ‘dog’ remarks alleged to be aimed at President Edgar Lungu.

Lusaka Province Police Commissioner Nelson Phiri says this is because the security situation in the city is not conducive for such an activity to take place without jeopardizing law and order.

Mr. Phiri has since advised the ruling Patriotic Front not to go ahead with their planned protest on Friday, 6th September,2019.

Recently, PF Secretary General Davis Mwila instructed party structures in all districts to effect citizen’s arrest on Mr Kambwili wherever and whenever he insults President Lungu.

And Patriotic Front members from the seven constituencies in Lusaka have been marching to the party secretariat this week to protest against Mr Kambwili.
