Permanent Secretaries implored to safeguard public resources

President Edgar Lungu has implored Permanent Secretaries to safeguard public resources and ensure there is sanity in the running of all ministries.

Speaking when he swore-in three permanent secretaries namely Danies Chisenda as National Development Planning Permanent Secretary, Chanda Kaziya as Ministry of Labour and Social Security Permanent Secretary and Daniel Bukali as Western Province Permanent Secretary, President Lungu says the parliamentary public accounts committee is looking up to controlling officers to have answers as to how government resources are being utilized.

President Lungu has also encouraged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to ensure to find time to supervise those working under them in an effort to improve service delivery.

He is hopeful that their expertise in various matters will help in addressing issues which continue to confront the Zambian people.

President Lungu has therefore expressed optimism that the permanent Secretaries will also exercise professionalism in their duties.

Speaking to Journalist after being sworn-in, newly appointed Ministry of Labour and Social Security Permanent Secretary Chanda Kaziya has promised to bring sanity in the labour movement and ensure all contentious labour matters are addressed.

And Ministry of National Development Planning Permanent Secretary Danies Chisenda has promised to make valuable contributions to the implementation of the country’s Seventh National Development Plan.
