Law enforcement agencies called upon to address increased drug abuse in Mtendere

Patriotic Front Mtendere ward 30 councillor, Watson Mtonga has appealed to law enforcement agencies to help address the high levels of drug abuse in Mtendere by young people.

Mr. Mtonga has likened the levels of drug abuse by youths in the area to that of Chibolya compound which is believed to be Lusaka’s drug abuse hot spot.

He states that he increase in drug abuse has resulted in the crime rate in the area rising.

Mr. Mtonga feels the situation can be arrested with the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies.
