Nkeyema Member of Parliament Kapelwa Mbangweta is hopeful that his constituency will receive the 2019 constituency development fund before the end of the year.
Mr. Mbangweta says the failure by government to disburse the K1.6 million CDF is causing the constituency to lag further behind in terms of development.
He has implored government to prioritise the new rural districts such as Nkeyema when it comes to the disbursement of CDF so that they can also be developed.
Mr. Mbangweta is of the view that CDF should be given in full at the beginning of every year without members of parliament having to lobby for it.
He states that a number of projects under the CDF have stalled in the constituency due to lack of funding.
