Registrar of societies is being used to fight political battles- Nevers

MMD faction leader Nevers Mumba says the Registrar of Societies has a mandate to preserve and promote the sustainability of democratic tenets in the Country.

Dr. Mumba says the Registrar of Societies should realize that the office does not exist to curtail the freedom of association of political parties.

He states that the Registrar of Societies must allow all registered political parties and church organizations registered to fully operate.

In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Mumba has expressed displeasure that regulatory bodies such as the Registrar of Societies are allowing themselves to be used to fight political battles.

He points out that the manner in which the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been deregistered does not make legal and administrative sense.
