Zesco reportedly loadshedding some areas an extra 6 hours

Zesco is reportedly load shedding some areas in Lusaka an extra 6 hours to the 8 hours it was recently said to have announced will be the new schedule.

But the Ministry of Energy has clarified that Zesco has informed it that  the new loadshedding schedule has only been increased to 8 hours from the initial 4 hours.

Permanent Secretary Emeldah Chola says if there are some places being load shed for longer hours the Ministry will get back to the public.

In an interview with Q-News Brigadier General Emelda Chola has noted that, as Permanent Secretary, the information she has is however that the load shedding  schedule in each particular area is 8 hours.

Brigadier General Chola states that Zesco is, nevertheless, going to release in the media the new schedule by next week.

She also disclosed that government and Zesco are, on the other hand, exploring ways to find a solution to ease the load-shedding in the Country.
