Defunct National Democratic Congress President Chishimba Kambwili has denied defaming President Edgar Lungu.
Dr Kambwili was arrested this morning for the offence of defamation of the President contrary to section 69 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Speaking to journalists after appearing in court at the Lusaka Magistrates Court in a separate matter in which he has been taken to court by opposition Economic and Equity Party (EEP) President Chilufya Tayali, Dr. Kambwili says as far as he is concerned, he did not mention any name in the video circulating.
And Dr. Kambwili has condemned the Police for continuing to deny him Police bond despite meeting the requirements.
He says he is the only opposition leader who has been denied Police bond each time he is arrested by the police.
Dr. Kambwili however, states that he is not intimidated and will not be shaken.
Meanwhile Patriotic Front Lusaka District Chairman David Silubanje has expressed disappointment with Dr Kambwili’s conduct and lack of respect for the head of state.
Mr. Silubanje says the head of state should not be dragged in non developmental issues.
