164 residents receives title deeds- Kapata

The Ministry of Lands has given out 164 title deeds to residents of Bauleni compound in Lusaka.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony of the certificates of title, Minister of lands and natural resources Jean Kapata says the titles fall under the Systematic Land Titling Program.

Ms Kapata says the ministry has over 50,000 titles to be issued to people across the country under this program.

She says the program which started as a pilot project in Lusaka will be rolled out countrywide.

Ms Kapata says women and youths are being prioritized in the Systematic Land Titling Program.

Meanwhile Ms Kapata says the process of coming up with a land policy is at 90 percent.

She says the land policy will be implemented by the end of the year.
