Our Kamabilumbu ward by-election candidate was bought – Katuka

The opposition UPND says its candidate in the Kamabilumbu ward by-election in Kaoma who has resigned to join the ruling Patriotic Front has been bought.

UPND candidate Misheck Mundandwe yesterday, 23rd July,23019 wrote to the returning officer announcing his resignation stating that he had been advised to work with President Edgar Lungu.

But UPND Secretary General Stephen Katuka has told Q news that Mr Mundandwe has been bought as evidenced by the fact that his letter of resignation was written by the same person who wrote the letter for the UPND Kaoma Town Council Chairperson who recently resigned.

Mr Katuka, however, states that the decision by Mr. Mundandwe to resign comes rather too late as his face and name will still be on the ballot.

He expressed disappointment with the type of politics being practiced in the country where candidates and party members are being bought.
