Construction Worker Dies as Wall Collapses At Woodlands Stadium Mall

A construction worker has died while two others have sustained serious injuries after the building they were demolishing collapsed on them at Woodlands stadium Mall.

Police spokesperson Esther katongo has explained that a construction company called liege Africa contracted three people to demolish the old walls where they intend to build a hungry lion outlet and in the process part of the wall collapsed on them leading to death of Codrine Shimayoba who was pronounced dead on arrival at UTH.

Mrs. Katongo the other two identified as Acron Moonga and Enoch Sakala are admitted to Chilenje level 1 hospital where they are receiving treatment.

A Q-news crew that rushed to scene found the trio had already been taken to the hospital.

Lubwa Ward councillor Humphrey Kapapula who spoke to Q-News has appealed to relevant authorities to carryout thorough investigations on what caused the unfortunate incident.

Meanwhile eye witnesses have blamed the construction company for the death and injury of the workers.

They have since appealed to relevant authorities to ensure that the construction company is brought to book for negligence.
