Govt justifies banning Somizi Buyani Mhlongo in Zambia

Government has justified the banning of South African gay television presenter and singer, Somizi Buyani Mhlongo, from performing in Zambia.
Information and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo says by the fact that Zambia is a Christian nation government cannot allow anyone to come and pervert the Country’s morals.
Mr. Kasolo says government is fully aware that the banned South African gay singer is a renowned activist for homosexuality, a practice that is forbidden in Zambia.
In an interview with QTV News Mr. Kasolo has argued that for the fact that practicing homosexuality is a crime in the Country, promotion of this practice is not allowed.
Mr. Kasolo says anyone promoting homosexuality in Zambia will therefore go to jail.
