Do not entertain coalition govt, NAREP tells Zambians

The National Restoration Party (NAREP) has urged Zambians not to entertain the proposal of having a provision of a coalition government in the Republican Constitution.
NAREP spokesperson Bwalya Nondo says a coalition government cannot work in the country’s democratic system.
Mr. Nondo has argued that a coalition can only work at a parliamentary level and not what is being proposed.
He says his party is suspicious that the proposal to constitutionalise the formation of a coalition government has come up because of a political party that is afraid of losing power in 2021.
