Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya Brenda Muntemba Sichilembe has died three weeks after being involved in a tragic accident which happened on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway on her way to Nairobi from Machakos.
The accident happened last month when an oncoming lorry rammed into the vehicle she was traveling in together with her Botswana counterpart Duke Lephhoko.
Ms Muntemba 49 died at Nairobi hospital where she had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for the past three weeks.
She is reported to have suffered serious injuries in the accident and was operated on at Machakos Level Five Hospital to stop internal bleeding before she was transferred to Nairobi hospital.
Before her appointment as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Ms Muntemba served in the Zambia Police Service rising to the position of Southern Province Police Commissioner.
