CISCA calls for leveled playing field in forthcoming by-elections

Civil Society Constitutional Agenda (CISCA) has called for a level playing field in the forthcoming by-elections.

CiSCA Chairperson John Mambo has told Q-news that all political parties should be accorded a level playing field in the Roan, Bahati and Kafue Parliamentary and Council Chairperson By elections.

Bishop Mambo has noted that the unfair advantage that the ruling party have over other parties during elections can potentially undermine the credibility of the electoral process.

He adds that CiSCA expects politicians to conduct themselves in a mature manner and desist from engaging in political violence.

And Bishop Mambo has called on politicians to respect the role of Police officers to avoid what transpired in Sesheke leading to four Police Officers being retired in national interest.
