SMEs urged to take advantage of CFTA opportunities

Buyzed Campaign Founder Evans Ngoma has urged small and medium enterprises to take advantage of the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) to market their products and be competitive in the global market.

Last month President Edgar Lungu signed the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement aimed at boosting economic growth across the continent.

Mr. Ngoma says Zambia businesses should maximize the full benefit of the agreement for economic growth.

He has stressed that the agreement, targeted at creating a single continental market for goods and services, will open up the over one billion African market to Zambia businesses.

And Mr. Ngoma has urged government to seriously do an introspection on how Zambia has benefited from the COMESA-EAC-SADC tripartite free trade area agreement before Zambia ratifies the continental agreement.
