MAZ urges leveraging of lifted ban on mealie meal exports

Millers Association of Zambia President Andrew Chintala has called on farmers to take advantage of government’s decision to lift the ban on mealie meal export.

Mr. Chintala says this is important for traders and farmers who complained of the low price that government through the Food Reserve Agency pegged maize for the 2017-2018 maize marketing season.

He says the lifting of the export ban on mealie meal presents a good opportunity for them.

Mr Chintgala has told Q-News in an interview that the lifting of the export ban is timely.

Mr. Chintala however, hopes that government will be consistent with its policies especially in the agriculture sector.
