Suspension of PRIME TV broadcasting license suspicious and partisan

APC President Nason Msoni

Opposition All People’s Congress party President Nason Msoni says the decision by the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) to suspend Prime Television’s broadcasting license is highly suspicious and partisan.

Mr. Msoni says the suspension of the private television station will destroy the credentials of the country internationally.

He claims the move by the IBA against Prime TV is a political ruse meant to blackout the public and employ underhand methods to instigate violence in the upcoming Bahati by-election.

Mr. Msoni says it is absolutely laughable to assert that the suspension of Prime TV is as a result of biased coverage when even the national broadcaster, ZNBC has been accused of biasness by some sections of society and opposition political parties.

He has since demanded the reversal of the decision to suspend Prime Television.
