Political parties urged to end political violence

Constitutional Making Expert Simon Kabanda

A constitution Expert Simon Kabanda has advised political parties in the country to instill a sense of responsibility in their political supporters as a way to end political violence.

Mr. Kabanda has charged that the onus to end political violence in the country is on political parties adding that if the cadres are let loose, the fight against the vice will all be in vain.

He has expressed sadness the political violence which he says has become a norm during any election.

Meanwhile Mr. Kabanda says as the Public Order Act undergoes refinement, there is need to remove the term permission.

Mr. Kabanda has observed that the act starts very well by stating that the police should be notified but that the next stages which talk about permission are a source of problem.
