Polokwane out to stun Chiefs

Polokwane City will square off with Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 3:30 pm.

Rise and Shine are winless in their last three league matches after drawing 1-1 with Mamelodi Sundowns away in midweek.

The draw saw Polokwane remain eighth on the league standings – two points behind fifth-placed Cape Town City.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are winless in their last two league games after drawing 1-1 with their Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates at home a fortnight ago.

As a result, Amakhosi are seventh on the league standings – three points above ninth-placed Lamontville Golden Arrows.

“We have tough games which started with (Mamelodi) Sundowns and the next one is against (Kaizer) Chiefs,” he said.

“And we will see what happens there. We are going to play three games in six days.”

“Polokwane City is an important game for us, and if we can get all three points from that match,” he said.

“It will keep us within touching distance of the league title which we are going to push for until the last day.”
