President Edgar Lungu hails Zambia, Serbia relations

President Edgar Lungu has encouraged Serbian entrepreneurs to take advantage of the conducive environment prevailing in Zambia and explore investment opportunities especially in the prioritized areas of agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, mining, and energy and water development.

In a speech read on his behalf by Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya during the Serbian national day commemoration last evening, President Lungu says Zambia desires to enhance and increase the warm bilateral relations it shares with Serbia based on mutual understanding and respect.

The head of state re-affirmed government’s commitment to strengthening ties with Serbia through exploring corporation in the areas of agriculture, mining, energy, health, infrastructure development and tourism for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

President Lungu has encouraged development agencies in Zambia and Serbia to organize Trade and Investment missions that would enhance private sector cooperation and facilitate the expansion of trade between the two countries.

He has also expressed gratitude to Serbia for its commitment to continue offering scholarships to the Zambian youth.

The Head of State has since expressed confidence that the continued exchange of high level visits between the two countries will ensure a viable platform for political, economic and social engagements for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

Speaking earlier, Serbian Embassy Charge D’Affairs Vladimir Odavic is confident that Zambia and Serbia will soon sign memorandum of understandings to further enhance bilateral relations in various areas between the two counties.
