No live Ammunition was used to quail Sesheke fracas-IG

Kakoma Kanganja – Inspector General of Police

Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja says no live ammunition was used to disperse the crowd at the United Party for National Development (UPND) rally in Sesheke as purported by the upnd.

And Mr. Kanganja has clarified that no life was lost as a result of the fracas.

In a statement made available to Q-News, Mr. Kanganja has warned that he will not tolerate any individuals perpetrating political violence in sesheke district and will sternly deal with any one that will be found wanting.

He says officers have been reinforced on the ground to deal with any further disturbances in the area.

The Inspector General of police has further called upon all police officers to ensure that they use proportionate force in ensuring that violence is brought to a stop.

He states that police will institute an inquiry to bring to book all those that could have perpetuated the violence.

But UPND Chairperson Mutale Nalumango says the police attack against Hakainde Hichilema and the upnd campaign team was an assassination attempt.
