Hamaundu urges Zambian delegation to learn from Cape Town Mining Indaba

Financial Analyst Mambo Hamaundu has urged government and key stakeholders attending the 25th Annual Mining Indaba in Cape Town, South Africa to draw lessons from countries that have recorded successes in the mining sector.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Mambo says stakeholders representing the country should tap practical solutions from other experts in the industry that will that will help improve the mining industry back home.

He has observed that the mining sector has been facing numerous challenges that require remedial measures, adding that the mining indaba provides an opportunity to handle the challenges.

Zambia is being represented at the indaba by Mines Minister, Richard Musukwa, and other ministers including officials from the Economics Association of Zambia among others.

The “Investing in African Mining Indaba” is the world’s largest mining investment conference, dedicated to the capitalization and development of mining in Africa.

The indaba has attracted over 5000 thousands of delegates representing nearly 2,100 international companies.                    

And Centre for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) Executive Director, Isaac Mwaipopo has encouraged Mines Minister Richard Musukwa to share with the nation the outcomes of the annual mining indaba and how his ministry intends to implement the recommendations.
