No PF member has joined UPND in Chililabombwe- Chisambo

The Patriotic Front in Chililabombwe in the Copperbelt Province has refuted claims by the opposition United Party for National Development suggesting that about 323 members of the party have defected to the opposition.

It was reported that during the visit by the UPND Members in Chililabombwe to canvass votes ahead of the Anoya Zulu ward by- election slated for February 12, 323 PF Members defected to the UPND.

But Chililabombwe PF Constituency Youth  Chairman Samson Chisambo has told QTV News in an interview that the claims by the UPND  Copperbelt Deputy Provincial Information and Publicity Secretary Godfrey Kamangu that the PF suffered a setback by losing 323 to UPND in Kasumbalesa Anoya Zulu ward are unfounded because the PF is still intact and that no member had defected to any party.

Mr. Chisambo has therefore urged the general public in the area to disregard such report and pleaded with the PF members to rally behind the candidate Kangwa Nsofwa Lupele for Anoya Zulu ward in Kasumbalesa Chililabombwe.

He says the Kasumbalesa elections will demonstrate that UPND is a dead and finished party.

“Our fact finding is that all PF structures are intact and sound” He said.

Mr. Chisambo has stressed that the Patriotic Front government under President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has demonstrated beyond expectations to the Zambian people positively across the country

“We remain committed to improving people’s living standards and that’s why the people of Anoya Zulu ward in Kasumbalesa shall continue accessing reasonably priced meal meal unless if you are a foreigner ” He added.
