EL warns disloyal military men and women

President Edgar Lungu has warned has warned men and women in uniform that he will not tolerate any acts of disloyalty.

President Lungu says he is aware that some military officers from all security wings have been sending their qualifications to the opposition for possible promotion in the event of a regime change.

He says security wings should bear in mind that there can only be one government in power at a time, thus the need to be loyal to the government of the day.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony for the new Zambia Air Force Deputy Commander Major General Benedict Kalinda at state house, president lungu has urged military personnel to remain loyal and discharge their duties well.

The head of state says going forward, he will not tolerate any disrespectful officers, and has since advised the new deputy ZAF commander to take his job seriously and serve the country wholeheartedly.

And speaking to journalists after being sworn-in, Major General Kalinda has pledged to work towards prudent utilization of resources by the Zambia Air Force.
