Falsehoods cost Zambia’s corruption ranking, claims PF

The ruling PF has described as a misplaced call the suggestion government is entirely to blame for Zambia’s latest ranking on the global corruption index.

PF media director Sunday Chanda has wondered how government can be squarely blamed when corruption involves two parties.

Mr. Chanda has challenged those blaming government over the perceived increase of corruption in  Zambia to ask themselves where exactly this vice takes place.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Chanda says his party is of the view that both civil servants and the private sector are not free of the guilt of engaging in corrupt practices.

Mr. Chanda states that whoever is therefore seeking to blame anyone for the alleged corruption in Zambia such individuals should apportion the blame appropriately.

He says this is especially  that it is common knowledge that President Edgar Lungu and his Ministers, do not sign any contracts for them to get kickbacks or involve themselves in any form of corruption.

The PF media director adds that while people in the Country debate the latest global corruption index it also important that they keep in mind that they are in fact discussing mere perceptions.

He says the ruling PF is certain that the era of falsehood and classification of everything government did as corruption that befell Zambia in 2018, may have contributed to these perceptions.
