NAQEZ demand release of recruited teachers’ names

National Action for Quality Education in Zambia (NAQEZ) has challenged the teaching service commission to release the list for the recently recruited teachers.

Early this month about 2,009 teachers have been selected for deployment in the 2018 recruitment exercise of whom 1265 are female and 744 are male.

But NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa has expressed shock that the list has not been publicized three weeks after the commission concluded the recruitment exercise.

He says that though the number (2009) is very small, these teachers need to go and beef up numbers in poorly staffed rural schools.

Mr Chansa says that NAQEZ hopes that the ministry of general education will recruit more than 7000 teachers next year because the ministry is losing about 7000 teachers per year.

meanwhile Mr. Chansa is appealing to the Examinations Council of Zambia(ecz) to extend the due date for paying internal grade 12 examination fees because the 31st December deadline will disadvantage a lot of candidates who are currently holidaying.
