HH labels meeting for presidents of political parties ‘successful’

The largest opposition political party United Party for National Development (UPND) has described as successful dialogue meeting which outlined among other key issues putting an end to political violence, electoral reforms and judicial reforms.

UPND Party Leader Hakainde Hichilema says ending political violence will enable citizens to choose their leaders based on who can truly work to deliver development.

Speaking to Journalist after the meeting, Mr. Hichilema says addressing electoral reforms is one of the key areas as it borders on citizens deciding their destination and not the electoral body being part of manipulating the will of the people.

He has noted that the country’s judicial system is one that no longer inspires citizens and this is one key area that needs serious attention.

Mr. Hichilema stressed that as political leaders and together with the three church mother bodies noted the need to ensure independence of these key bodies and restore normalcy in the country.

However, Mr. Hichilema has thanked the three church mother bodies for their continued support in ensuring a better Zambia for all.

Meanwhile Mr.  Hichilema has welcomed the proposed inquiry into the Privatization of Zambian companies.

Mr. Hichilema says those interested in the inquiry should feel free and proceed.
