Chief Sinazongwe dies after an illness

Chief Sinazongwe of the Tonga people in Sinazongwe District of Southern Province has died.

The traditional ruler died last night at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka after an illness.

ZANIS reports that Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale confirmed the development  in a statement.

Dr. Hamukale, who is saddened by the demise of the traditional leader, has described the late Chief Sinazongwe as a leader who was a unifier of masses.

He states that the death of chief Sinazongwe is blow to the province.

Dr. Hamukale  says the late traditional leader was an advocate of socio-economic development not only in his chiefdom but in the province at large.

Burial arrangements will be announced later.
