TEVETA introduces new courses, calls for material/infrastructure upgrade

Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) Acting Director General Cleophas Takaiza has noted the need for TEVETA institutions across the country to be upgraded with materials and modern infrastructure.

Mr. Takaiza has told q news that most TEVET institutions in the country have introduced new courses that will require upgraded infrastructure and materials for the learners to receive quality training.

He says some of the new courses that have been introduced include, mechanical manufacturing and automation, metal and nonmetal technology, marine mechanics, building construction and security management among others, all he says require upgraded facilities for the practical aspect of the training.

Mr. Takaiza has disclosed that these new courses have come on board in TEVET institutions through the close collaboration with the mines.

He has since stated that the newly introduced courses will help the country have an increased cadre of skilled graduates, a situation that will see more youths move away from depending on white collar jobs.
